2. For Soloists

Do you want to perform as a soloist with an orchestra?  Then apply now. The excellent professors representing three subjects work intensively with selected soloists and prepare concerts with the orchestra.

 

3. For Pianists

The pianists selected by the jury can concentrate on chamber music and perform in concert.  Outstanding musicians may also be given opportunities to perform after the course.

1. Soloists and Pianists

Deadline: July 1

Application must be submitted online by July 1. Following documents must be enclosed:

 

1) Application Form

2) Video recording of the listed works* (YouTube)

 

*Violin

Antonio Vivaldi Concerti op. 8 no. 1 or first movement of a Classical or Romantic sonata

 

*Viola

Franz Anton Hoffmeister Concerto for Viola and Orchestra in D major 1. mov. or first movement of a Classical or Romantic sonata 

 

*Fagott

W. A. Mozart Concerto in B flat major KV 191 1. mov. 

 

*Piano

First movement of a Classical or Romantic sonata

2. Chamber Orchestra

 

Minimum age: 14 years

There is no pre-selection procedure for orchestra members.

1.1. Registration fee

EUR 250

The registration fee covers the costs of processing the registration and will not be reimbursed if participation is cancelled.

  

1.2. Course fee

EUR 630

The course fee doesn't include the registration fee.

 

1.3. Practice room

1.3.1. Strings, Woodwinds: Flat rate EUR 30

1.3.2. Piano: EUR 10 / 1 hour

 

1.4. Application

2.1. Participation fee

The participation fee includes the registration fee of EUR 250. The registration fee of EUR 250 covers the costs of processing the registration and will not be reimbursed if participation is cancelled.

Admission

1. Soloists and Pianists

Participants will be allocated to the various ensembles based on the video recording. Participants will be informed about their ensembles about 1 - 1.5 months before the course.

 

2. Chamber Orchestra

All musicians will be informed about the program about 1 month before the course.

Withdrawal

The registration fee is non-refundable.

If written notification of cancellation is submitted 21 days before the start of the course, the remaining amount (participation fee) will be reimbursed. All transaction charges will be deducted. During the period 20 days to 7 days prior to the start of the course 50 % will be refunded.

If cancellation occurs after the deadline above, the participation fees will only be reimbursed in proven cases of force majeure (e.g. in particular if the participant is ill or has an accident). In such cases, the cancellation shall be notified to the academy at the latest 2 days before the start of the course. If cancellation occurs after that, even in the case of force majeure the full participation fee will be retained.

 

Granting of rights

All events of the Munich International Music Academy can be recorded by the Institut für Musik München. The Institut für Musik München reserves the right to take pictures at the Munich International Music Academy. These pictures can be used for promotion purposes by the Institut für Musik München. If a documentary is made of the Munich International Music Academy, all participants agree to take part in this documentary and to transfer all rights concerning this production to the Institut für Musik München. Participants have no claim to additional reimbursement.
